It’s hard out here for a creative genius• Kanye West may have vowed to lay off Nike in his regularly scheduled rants, but he didn’t promise to stop talking about his unfair treatment in the fashion industry altogether. The rapper and husband-to-be voiced some of his frustrations on Late Night With Seth Meyers about the lack of creative control he’s been afforded in designing his collections: “I give you paintings, sonic paintings. I have synesthesia, I can see sound. So when I do fashion, I want to give you sculptures — it’s like Michelangelo, the church wanted him to paint and he wanted to do sculptures,”  he said. “The difficult thing for me is that I just want to be able to use marble and make sculptures, but due to the fact that I’m a celebrity and all these different things, they’re like, ‘No, you can’t do this, you have to do this kind of line.’ And it’s the first of its kind, so there’s been a lot of confusion about why I want to do it and why I’m so frustrated about it… it’s an overall creative expression.” Considering ex-Balenciaga creative director Nicolas Ghesquière (who is an actual clothing designer), left the brand because label execs were stifling his creativity, I have a hard time believing that the root of Kanye’s artistic troubles is his celebrity. But hey, it’s Yeezy’s world… we just live in it. (Fashionista)• Vogue Paris is starting a fashion fund of its own… but not to help new designers. The French Fashion Bible is partnering with Paris’s Palais Galliera museum to raise money in order to help support clothing and fashion photography exhibitions. “Many international editions of Vogue, including the American, British, Italian, and Indian Vogue already have initiatives to back young creation,” Vogue Paris publisher Delphine Royant told WWD. “But young designers already get support in France…. It is in Vogue Paris’ DNA to give access to creation to the public.” The Palais Galliera will receive a yearly €137,417 grant, and Vogue will hold an annual fundraiser to benefit the project during couture fashion week. The first one will go down July 9th. (WWD)• Paris is buzzing right now, with the arrival of Rihanna, who allegedly came to town for Drake‘s concert at the  Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy. Word is, the singer might stick around to take in Balmain‘s Fall 2014 show tomorrow, to which she has reportedly been invited. (WWD)• Louis Vuitton is arguably one of the most anticipated shows of Paris Fashion Week, as it is the debut of Nicolas Ghesquière as creative director of the label. While the designer is staying mum on what we can expect from the collection, some inside sources told WWD the show “is likely to reference Vuitton’s roots as a maker of trunks.” We can also look forward to a powerhouse front row. Ghesquière has reportedly invited some of his fellow designers; Alber Elbaz, Riccardo Tisci, Raf Simons, and more to take in the show. (WWD)• André Leon Talley‘s got a new Insta-handle, ya’ll! The Numéro Russia editor-at-large just started ‘gramming on @andreltalley yesterday. So far, there are screenshots from his gig at Zee Cee Zappos Couture, and, of course, Tom Ford‘s cover for Numéro Russia. Check it out! (Instagram)~Jihan
