Happy Thursday everyone!Paris Fashion Week is underway: the last of the month-long runway shows, but my favorite of all!This week, celebs went glam at stylish luncheons and TV appearances. The 86th Academy Awards are just days away, so most are preparing for what they’ll don for the fashionable night.Let’s get into the week’s ensembles!Naomie Harris kicked off the week in the right way at the Maybelline New York and The Daily Front Row Fashion Hollywood Luncheon in LA. She sported a Giambattista Valli dress, cap toe pumps, and a Jimmy Choo Carmen Box Clutch. Hot!Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade grabbed some lunch on Miami Beach in casual looks. Her $63 Brian Lichtenberg Homies Cap and sneakers were pared-down yet fun touches.RuPaul and Porsha Stewart appeared on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live together and served as you might have expected! Porsha’s embellished dress and voluminous hair were IT.First Lady Michelle Obama was the epitome of chic on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in all-black. Fab no?The Smith Family looked cool in riffs on black ensembles at the UFC 170 Event in Vegas. They’re a great looking bunch!Kevin Hart is clearly a soccer fan as he was spotted at the Manchester City FC Training Ground in a $3,225 Givenchy Star Embroidered Leather Jacket. I love Kevin’s style!Last, but not least was Lupita Nyong’o who was pretty in pink alongside Robin Roberts while filming ABC’s Count Down To The Oscars. Beauty isn’t really my bag, though I’m starting to dip my toe in it because it’s fun, attainable, and let’s be honest: who doesn’t like to shine?I was invited to Net-a-Porter’s Beauty Anniversary yesterday, and in addition to taking snazzy pix like the one below, I was able to find out about a few fabulous products that I’ll have try out soon.A few standouts:1. By Kilian PerfumeAside from smelling delightful, Kilian perfume triumphs because of its elegant packaging. The black fragrance on the right comes equipped with its own velvet lined coffin, and the white bottle fits nicely into a snake adorned white clutch. The travel sized bottle is covered with a serpentine ring…and there’s really nothing I love more than products that do double duty! The owner of the brand is part of the Moet Hennessy family, which means he has an eye for all things luxe (I loved it that he spoke French to me when describing the scents, upon my request of course!). Apparently these fragrances have been an underground favorite of stars for years. When I Instagrammed about them, both Julissa Bermudez and Mashonda lamented that the secret was out! At any rate, all this fabulosity comes with a hefty price: bottles start at $245. But, everything is refillable, so once you’re done spritzing, you can reup for less, and hold on to the lovely accoutrements for years to come. Get ‘em below:2. James Read TanningDo black people tan? Apparently they do. Not to appear darker per se, but moreso to achieve that glowy, rejuvenated aura. I personally have never self tanned, but might give James Read products a try. I was particularly intrigued by the brand’s leave on $65 Sleep Mask Tan which is a cult favorite and works well on basically any skin type! Would you try it? If so, peruse the selection here.3. Leighton Denny Nail LacquerLeighton Denny nail polish was conceived by a celebrity UK manicurist, and has been brought to the States with a bang. The heavily pigmented colors go on smooth and reportedly stay on for longer than a week! Colors are pretty cute and on trend for Spring with nude, yellow, and pool blue. Cowboys and the Dirty South are really having a moment in international fashion. Karl Lagerfeld took to Dallas for Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2014 collection and Donatella Versace is following suit, dropping Italian fashion house Versace into the Wild Wild West. The brand’s latest Menswear offerings for Fall 2014 were brimming with southern hospitality and rodeo flair from lariats to leather chaps.Blazers, sportcoats, fur-trim leather jackets, and classic denim pieces were given cowboy panache with sheriff star, cactus, and horseshoe brooches.Versace’s signature scarf print was given a modern, yet western spin with spurs, luxury cars, and pocket watches. The designs were made even more gaudy with charm necklaces and leather trousers. Expect to see rappers like Drake and French Montana in these shirts in the near future.Prints were in abundance from colorful abstract arrangements to age-old tartans. This isn’t the brand for wallflowers and the array of patterns drove that point home.If you were wondering whether or not the leather trend was going away, it surely is not. Donatella showed the edgy texture in a myriad of hues and silhouettes including snap-front shirts for a riff on the classic button-down, combo denim gone fiery with red leather, long coats that read like costume designs from The Quick And The Dead, and trousers that seemed to be made for rock stars like Jared Leto.Cowboys swear by their true blues, so the collection was filled with denim. Regular slim fit styles paired with punchy jackets, head-to-toe coated looks giving modern meaning to the Texas tuxedo, leather-detailed pairs (that I would very much like for my own wardrobe), paint splattered designs that could only be interpreted as “Best of the 80′s”: some were highly-functional and others were not, in true Versace fashion.Some looks could only be referred to as “Chippendale’s Gone South”, exposing the brand’s underwear with chaps. We surely will not see any of these pieces in day-to-day life, but they might show up in editorial, on either men or women.Last, but certainly not least were the few fur moments, which I quite enjoyed.
