We’re starting off Swagger Monday Real Style with a splash with the colorful Asha spied in Soho:While Coco Chanel suggested women take one thing off before leaving the house, Asha piles everything on, from patterned stockings to shockingly pink scarves to camouflaged hats. The stylista isn’t afraid to be bold–check out that blue lipstick and nose jewelry. But does her look work for you?Does she have Swagger?Read more about the encounter at www.swaggernewyork.com.

Karl Lagerfeld wasn’t the only designer influenced by Indian royalty this season. Jason Wu looked to the opulence of the maharaj to inspire his Pre-fall collection. As a young albeit well established designer, Wu knows it is his closeness in age to his target customer, and his ability to bring a youthful edge to sophisticated looks that makes lustworthy collections so sellable.Instead of taking cues from the bejweled excess we think of when we imagine the maharaj, Wu allows the saturated jewel tones and intracate emboridery to craft the narrative for this collection. Clean cuts act as the foundation for deep cobalt blues, burgundies, burnt oranges, and shots of deep emerald green.Daywear is a slew of basic shapes: pencil skirts, sheath dresses, capes, tailored jackets, all sharpened to a T. But these pieces are far cry from your nondescript well cut- but wholly unidentifiable fare. They are generously updated with a helping of intracate hand embroidery, exploded houndsthooth and textured geometric print. Wu offsets his more tailored offerings with ultrafeminine, flowy-skirted dresses with asymmetrical hems, with keyhole detailing at the collar.Evening takes a dramatic turn, with shapes recalling old hollywood glamour. Expect to see many a starlet in the extreme a-line, pointed pencil hems, and red-carpet worthy floor sweeping gowns, brought to life by the jewel tone hues and satin sheen.Wu introduced a new doctor bag this season, a welcome addition to his year-old accessories collection. Elbow-length leather gloves add a retro ladylike touch.I think this collection is absolutely stunning. I love the rich colors, and those wrap-around strap pumps might have to be my fall splurge item! What do you think? Did Wu wow you?#gallery-1 {margin: auto;}#gallery-1 .gallery-item {float: left;margin-top: 10px;text-align: center;width: 33%;}#gallery-1 img {border: 2px solid #cfcfcf;}#gallery-1 .gallery-caption {margin-left: 0;}/* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */~Jihan

Beyoncé was spotted  without Baby Blue yesterday, paying a visit to an adult education center. The “Love on Top” singer (who could have been looking to brush up on her grammar,) threw on a pair of last season’s coveted Isabel Marant wedge sneakers, denim shorts, blue tee, black sweater, and what appear to be $159 McQ by Alexander McQueen mesh detail leggings.Of course she completed the look with her favorite black fedora and Linda Farrow x The Row sunnies.Beyonce is a certified McQueen fan, and is frequently spotted in the brand’s leggings, shoes, and other accessories. The house’s diffusion line, McQ, offers black stretch jersey leggings with cut out mesh details and a stretch elastic waistband that skew similar to Beyoncé’s option. Her outfit is admittedly a little strange, though I think the leggings might work best with a totally different ensemble (perhaps a black tunic and a sensible heel à la Mariah Carey?). The leggings are hot! The outfit? Hmm…What do you think? If you like the leggings, get them at www.farfetch.com.*Need a look for less, slip on these Gipsy Net Panel Tights:They’re only $18 at Topshop.

Lavonika writes, “I fell in love with the dress Nene Leakes wore on New Year’s Eve the minute I saw it!”“..Can you tell me who designed it?”Well, we all know Nene is ‘very rich,’ and thus only wears the finest threads, including this $2,480 Lanvin Drape Sleeve number:The stretch wool high collar long sleeve frock has a drape detail at the sleeve and an exposed asymmetric zip. Nene accessorized the look with a pair of chic black platform pumps.I must say, this dress is divine (don’t you think?). Yes to understated elegance, no to pieces proclaiming the status of your bank account. If you can stand the sticker shock, get the dress on sale for $989 at Barneys.com.
