Today’s Bombshell is Marlene from NYC:She says, “I [split my time between] NYC and Miami.”” I consider my style to be sophisticated glam with a hint of taboo chic.”” At first, people have a misconception that I’m bougie based on my appearance.”“…But once you get to know me, you’ll find my personality is as bright as the colors I wear.”” I try to encourage my fellow plus size sisters to love and accept who they are…we all are beautiful. Know that true and lasting self confidence grows naturally when you become comfortable in your own skin.”” I recently created a youtube channel www.youtube.com/SuperbFashionSense where I help remind my curvy divas that Fashion comes in all sizes….Don’t limit your style.”Absolutely fabulous! You’re beautiful, have gorgeous hair, and style to match. Love that leopard fit, I might need to cop that! What do you think of Madamoiselle Marlene? • Alexander Wang is being sued again by another employee. Flor Duante, is the latest to file against the designer, claiming she was made to work 90-hour weeks in poor conditions. Duante says she was fired from her position after demanding compensation for her labor. She is the second of Wang’s sweatshop staff to come forward. (NY Post)• Who says fashion doesn’t pay? In the last three months, Marie Claire accessories director Kyle Anderson, has spent $43,927.43 on frivolities like a Givenchy keychain ($185), and Prada golf shoes ($1,424.25). All that money spent, Kyle, and no trinkets for me? (Gawker)• Madonna is teaming up with ALDO Group, Inc. on a new line of shoes for her Truth or Dare label. The 60-piece line will drop this fall, consisting of several stiletto pumps and booties, including these Valentino-esque studded bow pumps. Prices range from $89-$349, the latter of which seems far too exorbitant for ALDO shoes not created in collaboration with an actual designer. (MTV Style)• Even when they attempt to go in disguise, overexposed celebrities always manage to draw attention to themselves. Kim Kardashian ran some errands in her native Los Angeles donning a blonde wig, probably as a ploy to incite posts like the one I’m writing now. Damn you, Kim, you get us every time. (Daily Mail)• Jimmy Choo has named a new shoe after 90-year-old style icon Iris Apfel. The five-inch leather sandals are embellished with colorful resin chips. Too bad Ms. Apfel will never wear them. In a recent interview, she expressed her distaste for sky-high heels, saying,“I don’t see anything beautiful about them.” Wee womp! Anyway, I can’t help but throw a little shade to the folks at Jimmy Choo for creating a pair of heels no frail-boned 90-year-old woman is ever going to wear! Flats might have been a more prudent choice. (Telegraph)~Jihan

We’re adding a bit of British flavor to our Bombshell mix with Paloma from the United Kingdom:She says, “I believe that being fashion conscious is important for you to define your personal style.”“…Height, body shape and personality can help you identify the clothing that best suits you.”“… I would describe my personal style as timeless, classic, and effortless.”“I choose clothing that is form fitting and elongates and show cases my long legs which I feel are my best asset.”” I love luxury items and tend to spend money on designer bags and shoes. “” I live in the UK and noticed most of the people featured live in America…”“…but I feel fashion is universal.”“Please check out my blog at www.loloskloset.co.uk (I just started blogging on Friday!!).” Welcome to the blogging world! Despite appearances, we do feature *lots* of British Bombshells with great style. You’re another example of someone with spectacular UK swag. Love it, especially the black shoes you wore with that leopard skirt! What do you think? Fashion Bombshell of the Day is a feature showcasing the singular style of Fashion Bomb Readers. Closing out this fashionable week is Leonette from DCShe says, “If I had to describe my style, I would describe it as diverse.”“… I don’t subscribe to any one fashion mantra and very frequently bounce from one category to another depending on my mood or what I got going on. I easily go from conservative/sophisticated, classic, simple, casual chic to funky, sexy, high end, vibrant and trendy.”“… I love the idea of balancing conservative roles without compromising my love of fashion and style!”” One of my goals with my blog is to inspire young women who have many responsibilities and have somehow lost themselves and fashion sense in their individual roles.”” I don’t believe it’s a contradiction to be an excellent parent, ambitious professional and fashionista all at the same time!” “…I started a personal style and lifestyle blog, Milk and Honeeyz (www.milkandhoneeyz.blogspot.com), as an outlet for me to share my personal style and experiences as a young mother, attorney, single woman and fashion lover.”You have a very diverse style! My favorite might have to be your striped skirt and colorful top combo. Tres chic! What do you ladies think? Hey Bombshells! So I’m in London, currently taking in a flurry of fashion shows and reviewing them for Vogue.it. I’ve been moving slow as molasses, most likely because I’m recovering from New York Fashion Week and a pretty long flight. I did manage to take a lonely snapshot on day 1 of model Jasmine, who I spied at Somerset House:The diva is actually visiting from California, but fit right in with her surroundings with a dark outfit, edgy shades, and dark lipstick.Fierce! What do you think of her look?Stay tuned for more snapshots from London Fashion Week.Smootches!
